Good to know

I was at my doctor's office for my annual check up earlier today.
While the Doctor was checking my heart rate he asked me
Dr: Do you exercise regularly?
Me: No ( I said that quite fast too) and I started smiling just thinking what he was about to say. Kind of waiting to be scolded at.
Dr: Humn, your heart beat is slow. Usually people who don't exercise have a fast heart bit.
Me: So am I okay?
Dr: yeahh. You heart beat is very healthy.
Me: (grinning from ear to ear) Yep, am special! (laughing)
Dr: (smiling) well, I'll still recommend regular exercise.
At this point he burst my bubble. Still, I am happy about the outcome of my visit.
Now that I think of it. I have been doing a lot dancing. I guess I exercise regularly.
Who knows...

What do you want???

Ever get a call from someone you haven't spoken to in a long time? The first time you they call and sound extra happy to talk to you. You just think that maybe they are having a wonderful day and is coming through the conversation. But then keep calling but not really saying anything?
Anyways, I get a call from this guy that I know but not really know if you know what I mean. Like, we went on a road trip together but he was with someone else. We had fun and that was it. We never really hang out again after that.
So a few weeks ago I missed his call. When I returned his phone call and talked to him. He was just so perky. I didn't really understand why, but I went with the flow. Then next week he calls again, now, the same thing happens, nothing really to talk about. I mean how many times can you ask someone how they're doing? So, I get this feeling he wants to say something but he can bring himself to do it. I don't know how many times he had called since and just saying hello. Maybe I am getting paranoid. But then again, I don't know what to think of it. More than one phone call a week just see how am doing is a little creepy. And I try to help when he calls. I'll say "So, what's up? or what you got for me? or What's new?" I mean just to give him an opening to say whatever he has to say to so I can get over it already.
Totally weird.

Happy Turkey Day!!!

It's BACK!!! Turkey Day! Today is the last day of work for the week. Everyone is already traveling to their loved ones if they are celebrating Thanksgiving out of town.
Lucky me, I don't need to put on my driving gloves. We are celebrating at my cousins which is very close to home.
This year I am not slaving in the kitchen. At least I hope not too. I am only making pumpkin pies and probably help serve and set the table. Other than that everything is been taken care of. All I have to do is: show up! and not forget the pies.
For those traveling please please Drive Safely! We want everyone to celebrate not end up at ICU. With that my friends Have a wonderful time and do eat as much as your body would allow :0P

Weekend

Last Saturday the entire city of Columbus,OH was buzzing because of the game that was to be played between our own Columbus Buckeyes the #1 team in the country against the #2 team the Blues of Michigan.
Tension was running high. Everybody was either at a House game party or the local bar to watch the game and support. The tickets were sold at outrages prices. Some were sold from $1,000.00 to $10,000.00 depending on the seat. I heard some even higher than 10 grands.
From 4PM til 7Pm all the street were deserted. I know, because I made a trip to the store and the roads were very clear for a Saturday.
The Buckeyes won the game 42 to 39. Very close win. Needless to say you can read the details on the ESPN sports
  • Link

  • After that you can imagine all the bars give aways free drinks. People got wasted literally.
The Omega Psi Phi - Q's hosted a skate party at local skating ring/family fun center.

This is how the skate floor looks like

The cool thing was that they had a regular dance floor in the middle of the skate ring. So if you got tired of skating you could join the rest of the crowd on the dance floor.
This is how Saturday went post game party was from 7 til 12am. Then everybody went to the Q's party from 2am til 4:30am then they went to an after party! I called it a night at 4:30am got home a little after 5 in the morning. We made a quick detour at a house party then went home. I slept most of my Sunday away. But managed to squeeze in a shopping trip which was way AWESOME!! I got me some new JEANS and a very cool Coat.
Now I just need some more shoes!

    From my Favorite book

As A Man Thinketh by James Allen

"The soul attracts that which it secretly harbors, that which it loves, and also that which it fears. It reaches the heights of its cherished aspirations; it falls to the level of its unchastened desires, and circumstances are the means by which the soul receives it own.
Every though-seed sown or allowed to fall into the mind, and to take root there, produces its own fruitage of opportunity and circumstance. Good thoughts bear good fruits, bad thoughts bad fruits.
The outer world of circumstances shapes itself to the inner world of thought, and both pleasant and unpleasant external conditions are factors which make for the ultimate good of the individual. As the reaper of his own harvest, man learns both of sufferings and bliss."

    ____James Allen

    Depressed?

I went home during my lunch hour and had a weird talk with my mom.
We were talking about my sister until out of the blue she said:
Are you okay? You seem a little down these past few days.
Me: ( have a confused look ) Uhh... I am okay. Why you ask?
Mom: I don't know you just don't seem like your old self.

    Me: my old self?
Mom: yeah, like going you haven't been to your hair stylist, you not wearing any make up,you doing the long face, things like that.
Me: Oh, I don't know. I didn't really realize it. I guess I have been busy with things.
Mom: Maybe, is it your braces? Do they hurt?
    Me: Naahh,they dont.I am cool.
Mom: okay, Just thought I'll ask and see if things were okay.
    Me: Thank...

But as I was driving back to work. I kept thinking about things that are happening in my life. Maybe I need a vacation. I don't know. Maybe I do have an change of attitude. Perhaps, I have been living in my head for a little longer than I need to.
Maybe she was telling me I need to step up my game :oP. Anyways, so that brought me to the question. " Am I depressed?" Now that's an easy question to answer if I watch those TV commercial about anti-depressant. With them the whole world is depressed.

(Sigh) La vie pourqoui si complique?

Braces = Diet for 2 years

My dentist wanted me to go and see an orthodontist. Who made some preliminaries post treatment. He said that I don't really have a bad bite but if I want to I could get treatment to have a perfect alignment of my theeths.
Anyways, to make a long story short: I have been wearing braces for the past 3 weeks.
Thank God for whoever invented the clear braces. I automatically chose to have the clear braces even though it cost a lot more than the regular one.
It still shows a little but not as bad as the metal braces. Another good side is that I am forced into a strict diet if I want don't want to spend so much money on replacing every brackets that break for not following the proper diet. Meaning eating only soft food and liquid.
    My new best friends:
    - Soup
    - Baked potato and sour cream ( I love it)
    - Jello
    - Pudding
    - Grits
    - Liquids (meal replacement shakes, protein shake, coffee, tea, hot chocolate)
Absolutely NO Soft drinks. Very bad when you have braces, well they said high sugar contents. I guess you could add my last three beverages.
    - spaghetti
    - Cut to pieces Pizza (that's not too fun)
I don't know what else. If you have any suggestion what I can add to my menu for the next two years. I'll love you extra! :oP
But here is the difference between regular metal braces and clear braces:

    Pretty amazing huh?

I haven't started to crave anything yet. Yeah, I said "YET" cuz I know it's just a matter of time.
